Feast of San Lorenzo
The Night of Shooting Stars in the Heart of Pinzolo
The Feast of San Lorenzo is the patron saint festival of Pinzolo, one of the most cherished and deeply rooted events in the Val Rendena tradition. On 10 August, the day dedicated to the patron saint, the village comes alive with colours, aromas and sounds celebrating the culture and identity of this alpine community nestled between the Dolomiti di Brenta and the Adamello range.
Tradition and Spirituality
The day opens with a solemn procession through the streets of the old town, accompanied by the brass band and folk groups in traditional costume. The parish church, dedicated to San Lorenzo, becomes the focal point of religious celebrations that unite residents and visitors in a moment of deep sharing.
Gastronomy and Entertainment
The festival programme includes:
- Traditional market: artisan and typical products from Val Rendena
- Food stalls: polenta, local cheeses, carne salada and Trentino desserts
- Live music: folk groups and musicians of the alpine tradition
- Fireworks display: evening fireworks with mountains as the backdrop
The evening of 10 August is traditionally the Night of San Lorenzo, famous for shooting stars. After the fireworks, look up to the sky: far from the light pollution of cities, the sky above Pinzolo offers an extraordinary natural display, with the Perseids illuminating the celestial vault above the Dolomite peaks.
